contraceptives
Pills to stop pain are called "pain-killers" or "analgesics" Pills to help you sleep are called "sleeping pills" Pills to stop conception are called "contraceptive pills"
But please note that the single term contraceptive refers not only to a pill, but to any artifical means of birth control.
contra-ception = against conception
Note:
Even after many years in Germany, I still have problems with the German phrase "Anti-baby Pille", and much prefer the English terms "contraceptive pill" or "birth control pill".
Never say "Anti-Baby Pill" in English, it might shock a few people!
