UP IN FLAMES
Trysts, because they are secret, can be adventurous and sometimes costly as a young couple in Leicestershire discovered:
“Two young lovers were forced to flee unclothed after candles they set up for a romantic liaison in a Leicestershire barn set fire to more than 3,000 bales of hay. The two had placed the candles around the barn as they lay in each other’s arms. They claimed to have fallen asleep, but woke to find the barn on fire, and were then forced to run “au naturel” across a field to escape the blaze. Damage to the barn was around £24,000. Damage to the young couple’s reputation depends on one’s point of view…”
