A significant aspect of this generation is the widespread usage of the Internet from a young age; members of Generation Z are typically thought of as being comfortable with technology, and interacting on social media websites for a significant portion of their socialising.
In the U.S. they grew up with a black president and same-sex marriage as a constitutional right, and in Europe with increasing multiracial and multicultural influences.

Note: a generation typically refers to a group of people born within a certain period of time and whose shared age and experiences shape a distinct worldview.
