ladette
noun

- a young woman who behaves in a boisterously assertive or crude manner and engages in heavy drinking sessions

(Oxford Compact Dictionary)

---
Ladette came into use in the 1990s to describe young women who drink heavily and generally act wild like some young men are prone to do. It is formed from "lad," British English for a boy or young man, and the feminine suffix -ette.

The use of -ette to form new words first appeared around the turn of the 20th century in the word "suffragette," which describes a woman seeking the right to vote through organised protest. Since then, -ette has shown up in only a handful of words like usherette and majorette. Because the modern trend has been to create gender-neutral terms, -ette has declined in usage. Still, intentionally humorous terms pop up now and then like:

- bimbette = Offensive slang for a woman who is considered not very intelligent and with an exaggerated interest in romantic liaisons.

- punkette = The female version of a punker, someone who enjoys and lives the punk music life style.
