--- A Cuddly Grandma
A 10-year-old girl's attempt to sell her grandmother was stopped by the Internet auction site eBay.
The young girl had advertised her grandmother on the site, describing her as "annoying but cuddly" in her joke listing. eBay removed the advertisement because the site does not allow humans to be bought and sold. But not before the auction received 27 bids, one for more than £2,000.
The girl's father said she put his mother up for auction after a minor disagreement, but affectionately added: "They love each other really. We’ve had loads of inquiries asking if mum comes with a guarantee or not."
An eBay spokeswoman said: "Obviously we have rules about the selling of people."
